Plasma Donation Center
Bio-Life Plasma Services first facility in the Memphis area is located in Cordova, TN. The new 17,000 SF facility includes two large donor areas, examination rooms, offices, a child care space, shipping and receiving areas and administrative areas. The facility also includes a donor processing room and a large freezer for the storage of plasma until it is shipped out to treatment and research facilities. The structural steel building utilizes masonry and aluminum composite panel exterior with storefront and curtain wall systems to incorporate natural light throughout the building. The site included pervious paving systems to increase green space without reducing parking. The $3,500,000 facility was completed in 10 months.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Woods Construction for a terrific job on the BioLife Memphis project. The project had challenges with soils, schedule and design changes. As you know, the end date never changes and BioLife constantly improves the design, even during construction. Your staff always had a positive attitude, provided solutions and communicated with our team extremely well. I look forward to working again with the entire Chris Woods group on future BioLife projects.
